Day 01 : Bangkok – Luang Prabang – City Tour (D)
On Arrival at Luang Prabang International Airport, you are met and transferred to our centrally located hotel in Luang Prabang. The former capital city of the Lane Xang Kingdom is Luang Prabang. This enchanting town with its gleaming temple roofs,fading colonial architecture and stunning mountain backdrop has been claimed by UNESCO to be “ the best preserved traditional city in South East Asia” Here is plenty of interesting sights, some of which are the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun, the shrine of the Wat Aham, the city’s oldest temple of Wat Wisunalat and Wat Mai. We visit these before climbling 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. The zigzag path crosses over various temples to the sacred, gilded stupa of Wat Phousi at the summit.
Dinner at Local Restaurant. Overnight at Luang Prabang..
Day 02 : Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave – Luang Prabang (B,L,D)
Breakfast at Hotel. Pick you up for Luang Prabang City Tour. We continue our city tour, seeing the magnificent Wat Xing Thong which nestles at the meeting of the Mekong and the Nam Khan River. The temple structures are decorated in various ways with gilded stuccoes and doorways. The main sim has a marvelous ‘tree of life’ mosaic pattern on an outer wall. Lunch at Local Restaurant. We then board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River which also gives us a taste of the tranquil countryside and an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at Ban Xang Hai to visit the rice wine distillation. Upon disembarking. Dinner at Local Restaurant. Overnight at Luang Prabang.
Day 03 : Luang Prabang – National Museum - Shopping - Bangkok (B)
Breakfast at Hotel. Early morning visit to the National Museum at the former Royal Palace,
which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early Kings right through the last sovereign, and the Central Market are not to be missed. After visiting these sights, you will have free time for your own exploration of the town and strolling around the shopping area. The tour ends after your transfer to the airport for Departure flight.
